Job Description:
 
We are seeking a motivated, energetic, flexible and earnest bilingual Spanish/English salaried intern to join the Skeo team. A primary responsibility will be working with Skeo team members to provide a variety of technical assistance services to Spanish-speaking and other communities dealing with environmental problems. The selected candidate will also provide support to numerous other projects depending upon skill set. Ideal candidates will have exceptional communication skills, strong research and writing skills, be able to multi-task as well as perform quick turnaround tasks, and be willing to travel for 20 or more trips per year at various locations throughout the U.S. Work will be performed in a team setting and the selected candidate will report to a Skeo Senior Associate. Interns are expected to work fulltime (approximately 40 hours/week) for an annualized salary of $30,000-$35,000 and are eligible for full benefits (including health, dental and life insurance, paid time off, and 401k participation with an employer match). This is a telework position. This position will be subject to an employment contract with a term of up to one year. Upon completion of the internship, interns demonstrating outstanding performance may be given consideration for open Associate positions; however, a right of continued employment is neither expressed nor implied. Throughout the term of employment, both employee and employer will retain the right to terminate employment in accordance with state law.
 
Required Qualifications
  • Bilingual Spanish and English.
  • Bachelors degree in related field.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Located or willingness to locate to California.
  • At least one year of experience explaining technical information to lay audiences (e.g. teaching experience).
  • At least one year of experience organizing or managing multi-faceted projects (graduate school thesis can substitute).
